During your first visit, we’ll take the time to understand your health history, past dental experiences, and any concerns or anxieties you may have about dental care. Please plan for approximately 90 minutes for your first appointment. We’ll begin by taking x-rays to get a comprehensive view of your mouth, including the roots of your teeth and jawbones. Following that, we’ll conduct a periodontal exam to evaluate your gum health and check for signs of gum recession. If your gums look healthy, we’ll continue with a preventive cleaning. Dr. Garate or Dr. Falcon will then discuss any findings, including those from our high-resolution intraoral camera, and determine whether you need any restorative treatments.


If we detect signs of gum disease or inflammation, we’ll adjust our approach. Healthy gums are essential for a healthy smile and overall wellness. If needed, we’ll perform a full debridement and schedule a deep cleaning for another day. Healthy gums not only support your smile but contribute to your overall health, including cardiovascular and respiratory health.
